Raising a family is one of the most important jobs you will ever do, but it’s also one of the hardest! Luckily in Halifax we are home to an incredible local organization called Family SOS. They are there to help support all local families during their journeys AND they also run some pretty cool activities for kids and youth – and it’s all free! Today we shine a spotlight on this organization and some of the amazing programs they offer to help local families.
Parenthood is the most incredible job, but it also has the biggest learning curve in the world. You can prepare all you want but, until you’re in the thick of things, you won’t know exactly what support you will need or who you can contact for help. buybuy BABY recognized that challenge when they recently hosted a Baby Registry Celebration and so they gathered up a group of industry experts to connect with expecting parents to help prepare them for the big event…and the days following.

There are a lot of major decisions to make while you create the registry, such as what you want your sleeping situation to look like with a newborn, what type of stroller you will need, what your feeding plan will be . . . basically SO.MANY.DECISIONS.
I recently sat down with Melissa, one of the baby registry team members at the new buybuy BABY store, which is located in Bayers Lake in Halifax, to talk about baby registries and she showed us some of her top picks for new parents
